Five areas all of us struggle with trusting God

Our Career

Oftentimes we believe our career is about making great position, title, climbing the ladder, making money and getting recognized; however, if you are a follower of Jesus then He has you in a career not to make much of you, but to make much of Him.  When God becomes our priority and goal then are willing to do what He is leading us to, then we can experience genuine joy and we don’t just “go to work” but rather we get to make a difference.

Our Children

There is not one single parent who has not struggled with really trusting Jesus with their children.  Psalm 127:3Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him”.

Matthew 19:14 “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me; for of such is the kingdom of heaven”.  Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it”.  Matthew 18:1-3 “At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And calling to him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”.

Our Relationships

If you are in a marriage that is struggling right now, then I know you are having serious problems with doubt in regards to whether or not you can trust God.  One of the things you can rest assured on is Jesus loves your marriage and will equip and empower you to do what is right and best if you will make the conscience decision to place Him as priority and seek His face.  If you are single, there is a different type of doubt.  You are in the “Oh No Zone” or “Freak Out Zone”.   I know it’s tough, but be encourage, when there is doubt you must view it as an opportunity to trust God more.  When we make the tough (sometimes painful) decision to put Jesus first, He always leads us to a place way greater than we could have ever imagined.

Our Life

Far too often, becoming a Christian has been nothing more than accepting an invitation from God to go to heaven.  However, when we become a believer, according to Romans 10:9 we must confess Jesus as Lord, which means He is not a part of our lives, He is Lord of our lives.  Trusting Jesus with every area of our lives allows us to live in freedom as we can confess our sins, seek forgiveness, ask for help, deal with temptation and love one another.

Our Money

Money is the most un-surrendered part of most people’s lives.  Until God is in control of your money, things will be out of control.  Jesus said that money is the No. 1 competitor of our hearts and later on in the scriptures Paul said that the Love of money is the root of all kinds of evil (I Timothy 6:10).
